LEONID SMETANNIKOV
Decorated as a "People's Artist of the USSR" and holder of the prestigious "State Award of Russia", Leonid Smetannikov appears regularly in the roles of Don Giovanni, Valentine, Figaro, Germont, Eugene Onegin and Escamillo in Moscow's Bolshoi Opera and the Mariinski (Kirov) Theater in St. Petersburg. He has appeared internationally in Opera in Germany, France, Scandinavia, Canada, Australia, The US, and Canada and throughout the world.
His recital programs range from Schumann's Dichterliebe to
Russian folk songs. He is Voice Department Chairman of the
Saratov Conservatory and serves as a jury member on numerous
international competitions. |
