VICTORIA PARKER
Victoria Parker began studying the violin at age two-and-a-half with her mother, Sharyn Peterson, and was performing with her family quintet by age 5. She has been featured both as soloist and concertmaster with numerous orchestras across the US, including Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra, Vermont Mozart Festival, One World Symphony (NY), and Philharmonia Northwest (Seattle). A native and current resident of Seattle, Washington, Victoria performs as an extra musician with the Seattle Symphony and Seattle Opera. She is an avid chamber musician who enjoys playing a diverse range of styles, and can be heard on many popular albums and motion picture soundtracks. Victoria is also a proponent of new works, and is honored to have premiered several pieces which were written for her - most notably a violin concerto by Roupen Shakarian, andResidue 2.0, a duo composed for Victoria and violist Leanne King MacDonald by Danielle Post. |
